Michael and Regina Winans

BIOGRAPHY

Michael and Regina, the husband and wife duo, believing whole-heartedly in the sanctity of oneness, have been married for nearly 25 years. Even in times when divorce is at an all time high, they continue to count their blessings, as they’ve faced many of life’s challenges, twists, and turns, but have remained steadfast as a couple and also dear friends. They are undoubtedly soul mates, O-N-E, confidantes, friends, etc. They give God all the glory! This is one commitment that was meant from the heart. Their love for each other grows deeper and deeper as the years go by. Their union was definitely ordained by God.

Michael, one of the four brothers known to the world as, "The Winans," has won numerous awards including 5 Grammy’s, 4 Dove Awards, 4 Stellar Awards, 4 Soul Train Music Awards, 2 NAACP Image Awards, etc. He began singing at age ten. Regina, a former background singer for Bebe and Cece Winans and various other Winans family members, is a former choir member of the State of Michigan (Southwest Jurisdiction-COGIC), under the leadership of Dr. Mattie Moss Clark, and began singing at the age of eight. Regina took a fourteen-year hiatus in obedience to God in regards to her family/home.

Now, Michael and Regina have released their sophomore CD entitled, Be Yourself, (JDP Records/Shay Records), which is so indicative of their personalities/character. Realizing that God has called them individually as well as collectively for a specific purpose/destiny and time/season, they were able to express those sentiments in the 14 songs that they sing and co wrote (along with Chip Dixson, Josiah Bell, Mike Jr. & LaShay) on this project. Their hearts desires are to live a life pleasing in God’s sight. Becoming O-N-E is a lifelong process and they are continuing that journey in peace, love, and happiness. Be Yourself has a variety of songs for everyone. From the contemporary, "Be Yourself", "Count On Me", & "I’m Blessed", to praise and worship, "You’re Worthy", "Higher", "Rejoice", "Lift The Name", to family unity and harmony, "Unity" featuring their son and daughter, Mike Jr. & LaShay & "What The World Needs", to hope and encouragement for marriages, "Stayed Together" & "Holding On", to forgiveness, "One More Chance" & "Back To My First Love". Shirley Murdock (as only she can), accompanies them on "Victory (Raise Your Hands!)", and Dante Pankey performs a powerful rap on "Count On Me".

Michael and Regina are very proud of raising two Children, Michael Jr. (23 yrs.) and LaShay Chantrece (21 yrs. old). Both have college degrees and have grown into two young adults that have made their parents proud. Mike Jr. (Baby Mike Music Pub. Co.) produced Be Yourself. He and sister, LaShay, provided most of the background vocals for the songs on their parents sophomore CD. They also oversee the family’s recording studio, Shay Butter Recording Studio, where Be Yourself was recorded.

Michael and Regina are also very proud of all that God has allowed them to accomplish together. They’ve spent much time investing in what’s important to them: family and marriage; (nearly twenty five years and two grown children to prove it!) They’ve co written songs for various artists including, The Winans, Mom and Pop Winans, DeLeon Richards, Fred Hammond, The Resurrection, Daniel Winans, and others. They’ve traveled/toured with several stage play’s "Perilous Times", "Which Way Do I Turn", "The Preacher’s Kids", "A Woman’s Revenge", and "A house Is Not A Home". The message of Be Yourself involves discerning the times and seasons. Michael and Regina are thankful for both. Once you learn you Identity, which comes from knowing our Creator, then you understand your Purpose, and begin to walk in your Destiny. They are W-A-L-K-I-N-G! To God be the glory!
